I've been making music beads for at least ten years. I'm honestly not sure when I made my first one, but they've always sold fairly well for me. I usually use an ivory background color to lay the black music notes upon. It reminds me of an aged manuscript.
This time around, I had a customer request a white background. I wasn't quite sure how it would look since the black stringer tends to sink into the ivory glass. That makes it seem slightly thinner than it actually is. I wasn't sure if that would make black on the white glass look like thicker lines.
But I'm pleased with the results and I might make it a semi regular lampwork bead offering. What do you think?
